Lake County Central Dispatch (LCCD) is currently seeking applicants for a 911 Emergency Dispatcher. Dispatchers serve as the first point of contact for community members requesting assistance. This position determines location and priority of emergencies, relays information between callers and first responders, and provides assistance with non-emergency calls in a variety of ways. LCCD is a 24/7 operation, so applicants must be willing to work any shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call. While experience is appreciated, there is a mandatory training. GENERAL SUMMARY:
Conducts investigations and prepares petitions for cases involving juveniles. Prepares and reports observations and recommendations for disposition to Court. Develops comprehensive individual treatment and service plans subject to Court jurisdiction and assigned to diversion, consent or in-home care. Supervises assigned juveniles, maintains regular contact, and maintains related records and logs. Provides counseling
and guidance to youths and parents. Files and processes petitions for violation of probation and review
hearings. Completes required reports of caseload activity, contact log and case note summaries, and so forth
in accordance with established timeframes and standards.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, or related field.
Experience: Minimum twelve to eighteen months on the job experience to acquire familiarity with Juvenile Division and Court procedures.
Certifications and/or Licenses: Current and valid State of Michigan driver’s license.
Must be certified/become certified/complete training to facilitate juvenile assessments under YLS, MAYSI2, and MJJAS Detention Tools.
Must successfully complete Juvenile Court Probation Certification within one year of employment.
Must pass criminal background check.

The Equalization Clerk is responsible for assisting in responding to public inquiries regarding assessment records and processes. The position enters sales data and processes recorded documents into computer databases, including posting changes in property descriptions, owner names, and addresses; and prints reports, notices, and rolls from database. The position also provides information concerning property descriptions and locations, assessed values, and ownership to citizens, township officials, banks, title insurance companies, and other parties. EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Preferred advanced coursework in legal descriptions and assessments.
Experience: Minimum one to two years’ experience in a governmental and/or office environment. Preferred two years’ experience in mapping, equalization, and/or assessing and demonstrated experience in a governmental and/or public environment that involves appraisals, legal descriptions and maps. Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel at a minimum.

In the absence of the Equalization Director and/or County Administrator, this position is responsible for the daily operations of the office, including staffing, scheduling, approving leave time, budget oversight, requesting budget amendments, approval of payroll and timesheets, approval of expenditures, enforcing and adhering to county policies, processing accounts payables, ordering supplies, authorizing and coordinating the sale of data and FOIAs, administering software, overseeing the on-line GIS program, leading damage assessment efforts, and assisting in staff evaluations, counseling, and any needed corrective action. Assists with processing recorded documents from Register of Deeds. Additional duties include assisting with posting changes in property descriptions, owner names, and addresses to work roll and computer database; printing reports, notices, and rolls from database; providing information concerning property descriptions and locations, assessed values, and ownership to citizens, township officials, banks, title insurance companies, and other parties. The position also assists with assigning addresses to new structures, and recording and processing these according to established procedures. Performs related general office duties.
