The Lake County Central Dispatch Center is the Public Safety Answering Point for citizens and visitors of Lake County, Michigan, needing assistance from Police, Fire, or Emergency Medical Services in emergency and non-emergency situations. All public safety personnel are dispatched and tracked by Central Dispatch personnel.
The telecommunicators monitor and dispatch four law enforcement agencies, eleven fire departments, and a county-wide ambulance service. Our center is comprised of eight full-time dispatchers (function as both call takers and dispatchers simultaneously), a few part-time dispatchers and (2) administrators.
